To activate the collar, set it to the lowest sensitivity and "bark" 2-3 times very close to it, shaking the device, as the collar would be normally triggered by a similar movement&sound when worn by your dog. You might have to increase the sensitivity and try higher pitched toned barking as you test it. All depending on your dog's barking levels.
