This is the version for owners who want one collar on the dog, not two. Our Ultimate bundle adds a calming collar for £9 more, which is good value in pure pounds — but it does mean your dog wears a spray collar and a calming collar at the same time. If that is not something you want, this is the bundle for you and the maths is not the reason.

What is in the box

• Citronella Spray Refill — a spare can. The collar already comes with one; this is the second, so you are not ordering again a fortnight in.
• Calmdogs® Dog Calming Treats — 120 turkey-flavoured soft chews, 2.5 g each. A complementary feed with chamomile, valerian root, passionflower, L-tryptophan, L-theanine, ashwagandha, ginger and magnesium.

Why the collar is automatic rather than remote

An automatic collar acts without you. That is the whole point of it, and it is the right choice for barking that happens when you are not there — at work, asleep, in another room, or simply not watching. A remote-controlled collar does nothing in any of those situations.

The trade-off runs the other way too. An automatic collar can occasionally fire on a slammed door or another dog. Starting on the lowest sensitivity setting and working up reduces that considerably. If you want to be the one deciding when a correction happens, look at the remote-controlled bundle instead.

Worth knowing before you order

The chews are turkey-flavoured and will not suit a turkey-sensitive dog.

Keep continuous collar wear under 12 hours, use it during periods you cannot supervise rather than as an all-day fixture, and check the nozzle still points towards the muzzle after walks — nozzle position and sensitivity are the two usual reasons a collar seems to stop working.
